Primary School Awards

Primary School Team Award 

This award recognises the sporting achievements of Leeds’ primary school sports teams that have competed at City, Regional, or National level while representing their school. All members of the nominated team must have been born on or after 1 September 2015.

This award recognises the sporting achievements of Leeds’ primary school individuals at City, Regional, or National level while representing their school. All nominated individuals must have been born on or after 1 September 2015.

Primary School Staff Award

This award celebrates a primary school member of staff in Leeds who has made an outstanding contribution to Physical Education, School Sport and / or Physical Activity within their school. 

Primary School SEND Award

Primary School Young Leader Award

This award recognises an outstanding young leader within a Leeds’ primary school who has demonstrated leadership, commitment and enthusiasm in inspiring and supporting others to be active through physical activity, PE and school sport. 

Primary School Innovation Award

This award recognises an outstanding example of innovative practice within a Leeds’ primary school that has introduced new or creative approaches to physical activity, PE and school sport, making a positive and meaningful impact on children and the wider school community. 

Secondary School Team Award

This award recognises the sporting achievements of Leeds’ secondary school sports teams that have competed at City, Regional, or National level while representing their school. All members of the nominated team must have been born on or after 1 September 2008.

Secondary School Individual Award

This award recognises the sporting achievements of Leeds’ secondary school individuals at City, Regional, or National level while representing their school. All nominated individuals must have been born on or after 1 September 2008.   

Secondary School Staff Award

This award celebrates a secondary school member of staff in Leeds who has made an outstanding contribution to Physical Education, School Sport and / or Physical Activity within their school. 

Secondary School SEND Award

This award recognises an outstanding example of work within a Leeds’ secondary school that has made a positive impact on young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). 

Secondary School Young Leader Award

This award recognises an outstanding young leader within a Leeds’ secondary school who has demonstrated leadership, commitment and enthusiasm in inspiring and supporting others to be active through physical activity, PE and school sport.

Secondary School Innovation Award

SILC / Alternative Provision Award  

This award recognises an outstanding example of work within a Leeds SILC or Alternative Provision setting that has made a positive impact on children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). 

Team of the Year 

This award recognises the sporting achievement of Leeds’ individuals who participates in representative School Sport. All nominated individuals must have been born on or after 1 September 2008. 

(Nominations for this award must be submitted via a Leeds’ School Sport Association representative) 

Individual of the Year Award  

This award recognises the sporting achievement of Leeds’ individuals who participates in representative School Sport. All nominated individuals must have been born on or after 1 September 2008 

Outstanding Contribution to School Sport Award 

This award celebrates a person / persons who has / have made a significant contribution, over a number of years, to PESSPA within a Leeds’ school context, which is over and above their contracted work.
