The exact format of the event will be determined by the number of entries. However, this is a competition, so we will play competitive games and score.  Teachers will be expected to support with this, alongside our Sports Leaders, so please ensure the member of staff attending is aware of the rules etc.  You will find some useful resources on the LWSP website, including all the rules etc.

To further support schools, the Leeds Well School Partnership has developed a series of sport-specific activity plans to help deliver high-quality extracurricular and enrichment activities that broaden children's experiences beyond the academic curriculum. These resources have been created using guidance from the relevant National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and are designed to develop pupils' skills, confidence, and enjoyment of sport. They also help prepare children and young people to participate in local festivals, competitions, and wider sporting opportunities.  Please find the link below to the Dodgeball Enrichment Programme: School Enrichment | leedswellschoolpartnership.co.uk

Team Requirements

This event is open to any child in Year 5 & 6.  Dodgeball is a 6 a-side game; however, teams can have a maximum of 10 players.  At the start of a set six players should be on court, with a minimum of two girls and two boys in this six at the start of a set.

Schools are initially limited to one team per school (10 pupils), but you can indicate on the booking form if you would like to bring another team if space allows. Extra teams will be allocated closer to the time should there be space available. Selecting ‘yes’ to that question does not guarantee you a place for an additional team.
